Car stolen while owner is working

Lawrenceburg Now

A police investigation was opened recently when an Alabama man reported that his vehicle had been stolen while he was working at a Lawrenceburg industry.

Officers responded to Cabinets to Go on W.O. Smith Drive shortly before 6:30 in the morning where they spoke with the twenty-two year old victim. He told them that he had gone to the parking lot and started his 2003 Pontiac Bonneville at around 6:00 a.m. to let it warm up, then went back inside to clock out. He said when he returned, his vehicle was nowhere to be found.

Witnesses reported seeing someone get into the car and “take off,” hitting aother vehicle parked nearby.

The victim estimated that the car had a value of $800. He told officers that he had recently purchased the vehicle from an Iron City resident and had not yet changed ownership to his name.

At the time reports were filed investigation into the matter was on-going.
